Meet the Team

Sarah Spivey, Managing Director


Since Sarah's appointment to Modulift in 2008 she has worked closely with the in-house engineering team, identifying the need for managing the safety concerns of customers through a portfolio of global standards as well as providing high QA levels of design and manufacture. Ultimately this has developed Modulift from spreader beam manufacturer, to specialist lifting equipment engineering company offering high quality products to customers around the world.

As a Business Studies graduate, Sarah previously specialsed as a Marketing Consultant working for numerous high profile Business-to-Business companies through the UK; growing their individual brands and turnover. Sarah is currently working towards a Chartered Director qualification through The Institute of Directors ensuring that governance and leadership stay at the forefront of the business.

Sue Spencer, Technical Director

Sue graduated from Exeter University with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering back in 1997, and always had a passion for this field from a young age. Sue began her career as a design engineer within the lifting industry working for a local company, and focused primarily on the design of standard and custom lifting equipment and lifting rigs. During the 5 years experience gained, Sue came up with the design for what is now Modulift's flagship product - the Modular Spreader Beam, and started her own company back in 2002 based on the initial success of the product. Sue manages the Engineering Team that consists of 5 talented individuals who are continuously working on exciting designs for the future.

Paul Smith, Operations Director

Paul started his career as an engineering apprentice, gaining ONC and HNC's in mechanical engineering before going on to complete a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business from Southampton University. His first employment was with a lift design and manufacturing company, where he progressed from project engineer to project manager, before relocating from Hampshire to Somerset. For the past 10 years he has worked at a subcontract manufacturing company, first as a project manager and most recently as their operations manager. Paul has undertaken a wide range of projects from implementing ERP systems and managing manufacturing improvement projects, through to designing business management dashboards and reporting using SQL databases. He joins Modulift to manage our manufacturing activities and to develop supplier relationships to facilitate future growth.

Amy Stephens, Account Manager


Amy graduated from Bournemouth University gaining a BSc Hons in Computer Aided Product Design. For the past 13 years she designed lifting equipment for materials handling, focusing on the food and pharmaceutical industries, having begun as a junior design engineer, progressing into sales in a consultative role to find and design the best solutions for people’s applications including resellers worldwide.  Amy is a natural fit and her experience will help us as we increase our custom design solutions offering. Outside of work she enjoys family life and has an allotment which takes up much of her time, when it not raining!  She loves the cinema and village life where she gets involved in many community actives.

Andy Charlesworth, Business Development Manager

Andy started his career working for Bridon International in their accounts department before moving into Wire Sales.  Career progression over the next 18 years saw him cover a wide variety of Bridon’s product lines incl. wire, strand, ropes & rigging travelling to most of the world during this time.  After Bridon, sister company Crosby came calling and Andy became Sales Manager for UK, before being promoted to Sales Director for Northern Europe.  After 7 years at Crosby, he left the industry to spend more time with his wife and young family, coaching & even still trying to play football! Andy has recently joined Modulift as Business Development Manager for UK & Europe to support our existing network of customers as well as develop new opportunities during these exciting times at Modulift.

Natasha Prigmore, Marketing Executive


Natasha graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia with a Masters Degree in PR and Advertising in 2012. Natasha is originally from Northamptonshire and move to Bournemouth in 2016.  Natasha has worked in various marketing roles that have enabled her to build various skills that are an excellent fit for the marketing team.
Outside of work Natasha enjoys the beach lifestyle and as well going to cinema and trying out new activities.

Marcos Sanz Gomez, Senior Design Engineer

Marcos is Modulift's longest serving Mechanical Design Engineer, so he gets all the interesting and challenging custom lifting equipment designs. He studied Industrial Engineering (MEng) in Barcelona (his birth place) and finished his Master's Thesis in Aberdeen. After working as a lead engineer for a big pump company and doing a postgraduate course in Project Management in Glasgow, he and his partner decided to move down to warmer and dryer climes, Poole. Here, shortly after moving, Marcos started working at Modulift in 2012. 



Hope Pearce, Design Engineer

Hope has been a part of the Engineering Team since 2015, where she originally started as a Draughtsperson and quickly rose to become a Design Engineer. Before working at Modulift Hope attended the University of the West of England where she obtained a degree in Product Design Technology (BSc Hons). Her main day to day duties include completing complex customer enquries and rig drawings, along with working close with Tom Cox and the Project's Team on the more QA dependant jobs and custom lifting equipment. Outside of work Hope likes to bake, especially cupcakes which she regularly brings into the office for her colleagues to enjoy!  

Tom Cox, Operations Manager

After leaving education without a career path in mind, Tom was given the opportunity to work as a temp for Modulift back in 2011 as a Production and QA Assistant. The longer that Tom worked for Modulift, the more he began to see an opportunity to develop a career and soon set about making his temporary role permanent. 7 years on, Tom has developed detailed knowledge of the lifting industry and knows the company inside out. This has pushed Tom's career even further to become the Operations Manager where his main focus is to ensure that every customer's needs are met and that their custom lifting equipment is delivered to them as expected with all the relevant documentation quickly and efficiently.

Estee Grigg, Projects Administrator

Estee comes from a Logistics background, where she was responsible for dispatching goods (including Hazardous / Dangerous Goods Consignments) via land, sea and air freight. Estee was keen to ensure on time delivery of orders and projects. Prior to this, Estee worked within the Civil Enforcement Industry for 10 years dealing with Local Government Authorities and undertaking a Legal Compliance role as the companies Complaints Officer. Within her Projects Administrator role at Modulift she hopes to achieve a wider knowledge of Engineering and is excited to oversee the many different custom lifting projects Modulift produce. Outside of work, she enjoys taking her dog for adventurous walks and spending time with friends; playing board games, going to cookery classes or attempting different activities.

Louise Rowe, Sales Order Administrator

Louise has worked in logisitics, shipping all sorts of things from Christmas catalogues and fake snow to fertiliser and valves.  She's now decided to join the Modulift team, helping to continue delivering our first class service. Louise has picked up the ropes very quickly and is working hard on providing fast and seemless deliveries for all standard Moduilft orders. A keen gardener, Louise also likes crime programmes, going to the pictures and spending time with her family.



Tom Sturt, Business Systems & Estate Manager


Coming from an oil & gas marine background, Tom spent 5 years with BP Maritime Services. Following a period of further education, Tom graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marine & Operations Management from Warsash Maritime Academy, obtaining a First Class Honours. Tom has developed into our Business Systems & Estate Manager. Day to day Tom co-ordinates Facility, HR Management and our Management Systems, relating to Quality, the Environment and Occupational Health and Safety, as well as maintaining our Industry Approvals: FPAL and JOSCAR. Tom has obtained Chartered Quality Professional status within the Chartered Quality Institute (CQP MCQI).

Geri Cobbin-Sheppard, Finance Assistant

Born and raised in Poole, Geri has developed a wealth of experience in retailing banking for 9 years before taking some time out to raise her children. Within the last 2 years Geri has worked extremely hard to complete an AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting, a AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting and a B&PC. Geri has also volunteered her financial expertise to the schools that her children attended, by managing their finances and supporting their fundraising events. In her spare time Geri takes on a lot of sewing projects, including children clothes and costumes!

John Baker, Sales Director

John began his career within the construction industry starting as a site supervisor assistant and worked up to running a small works project for a local construction company. After 6 years in the construction industry, John landed a position with a national constructions products supplier as a Technical Sales Exec. A few years on John was offered a position with a lifting gear hire and sales company in bristol and this was the start of his career within the lifting and engineering business. John joined Modulift in 2017 and supports the UK and European distributor and reseller network, identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as focusing on custom lifting requirements that our customers need.


Lucy Brooker, Account Manager

After finishing College with a Beauty Therapy Level 3 NVQ qualification, recently engaged Lucy had a change of heart and decided to work for a local Engineering company for 4 years. In 2016 Lucy was snapped up by Modulift to work within the Sales Department managing the Account Executives and working closely with customers to provide quotations, quickly and efficiently. Lucy looks over all standard spreader beam orders as well as custom lifting equipment order. Outside of work Lucy enjoys going to the gym and taking her two family dogs for long walks. 




Coral Bolton, Account Executive


Coral has previously worked in sales and customer service roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Coral has developed great skills in building key customer relationships. Her experience and dedication to go above and beyond means that Coral will help with the continued success of Modulift. Coral will be focusing on maintaining our relationships with industry partners, and continually providing a great service for all standard orders and custom lifting equipment. Outside of work Coral enjoys spending time on the beach and enjoying the sun!

Kerry Talbot-Jones, Marketing Manager

With a background in Sales, Kerry decided to make the career move into marketing and has never looked back!  Over the past 15 years Kerry has progressed up the career ladder, heading up marketing depts in the Finance, Construction and the Lighting design and manufacturing industries, gaining 2 post graduate qualifications along the way. So when the opportunity to join the Modulift team came up, it was a natural fit. When she's not working on marketing strategies, Kerry is obsessed with her 2 cocker spaniels and getting her cupcake roller skates on - you're never too old!

Harshal Kulkarni, Engineering Manager


Harshal graduated from University of Pune, India with a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering in 2008. He started his career as a Structural Design Engineer in the Oil and Gas Sector, rapidly progressing to a senior position. In 2013 he moved to Bahrain to work for Nass Corp, the largest manufacturing and lifting company in Bahrain, as an Engineering Manager for their fabrication and heavy lifting division operating as Nass Industrial Services and Sarens Nass. Harshal joined Modulift in April 2019 as Engineering Manager of the in-house engineering team. His global experience in the lifting industry and ability to develop smart engineering tools strengthens Modulifts ability to produce fast-paced quality designs and new product development. 
Outside of work he has great passion for playing chess and has professional FIDE rating and plays professional chess at various clubs and online.

Jordan Sibley, Mechanical Design Engineer

Jordan’s Mechanical Engineering career began when he studied at Plymouth university, after graduating he took on a Masters year which involved a large interdisciplinary project based on the renovation and redevelopment of Plymouth’s waterfront. Jordan then moved to Dorset where he got hands on experience with a manufacturing company working on the factory floor in a CNC turning cell. Jordan’s skills developed and he moved in to a design based role for special purpose machinery company, working across multiple products for use in the food and packaging industries. Now Jordan is seeking new challenges and will work on gaining a better understanding of how engineering practices translate across different industries. In his spare time Jordan has a huge passion for music and travels across the country to see his favourite bands live. 

Vidhya Subramani, Design Engineer

Vidhya pursued a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering Government at the college of Engineering in India. She has more than 5 years work experience in Structural Design for Industrial Buildings. Vidhya started as a Junior Design Engineer and progressed to become a Structural Design Engineer with an Engineering Consultancy Company in India. Since moving to England in the middle of 2017 Vidhya hopes to have a similar growth and experience working with Modulift. She enjoys the challenge of designing weird and wonderful custom lifts. 


Matt Roberts, Project Engineer

Shortly after moving to the UK from South Africa, where he got his draughting qualification Matthew started his role at Modulift as a Draughtsperson. Since joining the team Matthew has now moved on to the role of Project Engineer and is part of the Projects Team. He takes care of custom lifintg equipment as well as off-the-shelf products that may need to be enhanced with high levels of QA or proof load testing. Matthew has only been with Modulift since 2016 and looks forward to where his career will take him. 


Javen Ramsami, Projects Administrator


Javen’s background is in administration.  Starting his career through an apprenticeship in business and administration, Javen has worked in various departments such as: education, retail, human resources and local government. Javen recently joined the Projects Team at Modulift as a Junior Projects Administrator, and hopes to provide continuous improvement within the team. Outside of work Javen enjoys travelling to new places, and explore the world.

Joanne Scrivens, Production Planner 


Jo has been in Logistics for over 25 years, working her way up to Logistics Manager within Engineering Manufacturing.  After being made redundant she changed direction and started a job as Purchasing and Sales Manager within a catering company before moving to a local Fire & Security business as their Office Manager.  Jo's heart has always been in manufacturing, so she's come full circle and my role as Modulift’s Production Planner really suits my skill set and background,
Outside of work Jo like to spend time with friends and family, spending time in my garden (working and enjoying a glass of wine), swimming, and watching football as she's an avid Liverpool fan. 

Paul Savage, Finance Manager

Paul graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in Law, and after 11 years of legal type work for motor accident claims, he tried his hand at self-employment. Paul went on to work as an Office Administrator for a local vending company for nearly 7 years before moving to Dorset. Paul began his career at Modulift in 2009 and was then offered a permanent role as an Administration Assistant, then moved on to Sales Orders Co-Ordinator. In 2015 Paul began his Advanced Diploma in Accounting and passed a year later with flying colours, he is now Modulift's Finanace Manager.
