Innovating Together
Practical Innovations Shaping Everyday Lifting Solutions
In lifting and load monitoring, innovation only matters if it solves everyday lifting challenges. That’s the thinking behind our Innovating Together campaign. We’re sharing practical innovations developed across the group, each shaped by lifting challenges faced by lifting teams every day.
This isn’t innovation for the sake of it. Every product across our group of brands, including Modulift, Load Monitoring Systems, Aberdeen Web and pewag has a clear purpose: whether it is locating the centre of gravity, increasing WLL without upsizing chain or handling complex loads. It also includes our custom design offering – whether that’s a custom lifting beam, custom chain sling, custom round slings with integrated hardware or custom load monitoring solution.

Extending Equipment Life
From reducing sling wear through improved shackle orientation to adding abrasion-resistant protection on heavy-duty round slings, these solutions are designed to extend equipment life.

Modulift Clevis Drop Link & Delta Plate
With this lifting solution, two bottom shackles can be used on a 4-point lift with angled slings. By changing the orientation of the shackles, sling bunching and crowding are eliminated — reducing wear and damage to slings and shackles. The Clevis Drop Link & Delta Plate can be used with the MOD spreader beam range.

Aberdeen Web Tough Outer Sleeve
From 12Te upwards, Aberdeen Web round slings can be fitted with a Tough Outer Sleeve, providing significantly increased abrasion resistance compared to standard sleeves. This enhanced sleeve protects the inner layer from wear, extends the life of the sling, and ensures reliable performance on demanding heavy lifts.
Increasing Capacity and Handling Complex Loads
From safely increasing the capacity of chain slings to precisely positioning and turning awkward loads, these solutions make it easier.

pewag Load Distributor
The Load Distributor allows you to safely boost the Working Load Limit of your chain slings without increasing chain size. For example, a 3-leg Grade 12 chain sling at 0–45° has a WLL of 10.6 t without a Load Distributor – but with one fitted, this rises to 14 t, a 32% increase. Simple to use, it delivers higher load capacity while maintaining full safety, making lifting more efficient without having to upsize chain.

pewag Load Balancer & Compensator
Powered by hydraulics, the Load Balancer & Compensator enables multi-directional movement, keeps personnel out of danger with remote operation up to 100 m, and lowers labour costs. Durable and low-maintenance, the Load Balancer & Compensator features flexible load turning (with a 5 t option including a belt attachment), floodlights for enhanced visibility, free-release functionality, and options for chain or synthetic slings.
Reducing Accidents and Increasing Safety
From clearer visual indication of sling angles to hooks designed to prevent accidental release, these lifting solutions make for safer lifting.

pewag Oversized Master Link
The Oversized Master Link is designed for use with both 2-leg and 4-leg slings. Its upper curve ensures improved contact with the crane hook, helping to distribute the load evenly. The geometry of the lower section allows for quick assessment of sling leg angles. At 0–45°, sling legs naturally position themselves in the centre of the ring, while at 45–60°, they move towards the outer corners, giving operators a clear, visual indication that angles are approaching their upper limits.

pewag Oversized Self-Locking Hook
The Oversized Self-Locking Hook reduces the risk of accidental opening and hook damage. The trigger sits flush with the hook and the recessed trigger design makes it easier to open. Integrated wear and deformation indicators provide a clear visual reference of the hook’s condition. These markings allow users to quickly identify when deformation limits are reached. The raised clevis profile also ensures the last link in the chain is less likely to get worn.
Safer Lifting with Load Monitoring
From real-time CoG calculation to testing pad eyes after installation, these solutions help reduce risk during lifting operations.

Load Monitoring Systems – CoG Software
The LMS-LOG100 advanced data logging software provides real time monitoring of up to 100 load cell devices simultaneously. The Centre of Gravity (CoG) function found within LMS-LOG100 gives you the tools to quickly calculate and visualise the centre of gravity from up to eight sources of weight data. Choose your weight data, specify the X & Y coordinates and let LOG100 do the work to calculate and display the position of CoG.

LMS Pad Eye Tester
Once a pad eye is initially fitted, using a pad eye tester ensures it is secure and safe. Commonly used in offshore applications, the Digital Pad Eye Tester verifies the pad eye won’t stretch, bend, or fail under load. By testing pad eyes after they have been installed, this reduces risk, improves safety on site, and supports efficient, reliable lifting operations.
