Where are your products manufactured?

The Modulift manufacturer is based in Somerset, UK.

Can Modulift sections be used with other manufacturers sections?

No this will invalidate all Modulift Certification 

Do you hire out Spreader beams?

We look at hires and rentals on a case-by-case basis. We do have strategically placed distributors all over the world that have the facility to hire our Spreader Beams and other Modulift products. Please see our Worldwide Distributor page for more information.

Do the Modulift Spreader Beams have DNV Standard Certification?

Yes. For all spreader beams up to 1500t capacity in accordance of with DNV’s standard for Certification No. 2.22 for Lifting Appliances 2011, at no extra cost to the client.

What are Modulift's Regulations and Standards?

Each Modulift Spreader Beam series has been proof load tested in the Modulift compression test rig, and all products and been designed in accordance with international standards. These standards can be viewed on our Regulations and Standards page.

Can I have the beam in my company corporate colour?

Yes we are able to provide paint in any Ral colour of your choice.

What bolts are used for connecting the components?

Grade 8.8 bolts, grade 8 nuts and form B washers.

Can I suspend a load from the middle of a modular spreader beam to get a third lifting point?

No, our beams are designed for use in compression and have two lifting points at either end of the beam.

Do you have an inspection criteria available?

Can I use stainless steel fixings

As standard our fixings and split pins (R Pins) are mild steel, which is detailed within our product User Instructions. Alternative materials can be specified to meet more specific requirements e.g. low temperature. However, stainless steel fixings are not offered, as they lack the strength and integrity required for lifting in relation to our products. 

What Torque settings do I need?

Each Modulift Spreader Beam series comes with its own user instructions. Torque settings can be found on page 1 of these instructions.

Are you able to provide rig drawings?

At Modulift we understand that organising a lift can be a complicated process with many factors that need to be considered. With our highly trained specialist lifting engineers, Modulift can help you with all your rig design needs. Send your lift details to sales@modulift.com and we can advise the best solution for you.

Can I use a Modulift Spreader in an inverted position?

Yes our spreader beams can be used inverted if you have a requirement for 2 lifting points on the top and 1 on the bottom. Do I need to get a Modulift Spreader Beam re-certified if I remove a strut?

No, our Spreader Beams are Modular and designed to be re-used at different spans therefore re-certification is not required.

Can we use the Spreader Beams longer than stated on the user instructions?

No, the Spreader Beams have to be used in accordance with Modulift user instructions.

Do I have to wait long for a Modulift Spreader Beam?

We hold plenty of products in stock and we are able to offer next working day delivery to most UK addresses.

What is the maximum number of struts that can be used in a configuration?

The maximum number of struts that can be used are 5 with two end units. The MOD 110 and MOD 110H are the only Modulift Spreader Beams that allows the use of 6 struts.
