The team at Modulift have recently finished testing our largest standard spreader beam yet, the MOD 1100 / 2000t!
We manufactured the beam for a Belgian client specialising in offshore monopile installations. Currently the largest supplied standard beam in our range, the MOD 1100 has a jaw-dropping lifting capacity of 2000 tonnes. It is 30 metres long and comes complete with DNV GL-type approval as standard.
Advanced Features for Enhanced Performance
To ensure it performs as safely and efficiently as possible, we fitted the beam with a range of optional extras. These included upper shackle supports to protect the synthetic top slings when resting, and two 45t tugger points on each end. The Pewag PLDW 45t tugger points were supplied by Prolift UK.
Rigorous Testing for Maximum Safety
We carried out the beam test in our recently upgraded 2200t x 30 metre compression test rig, while we tested the two drop links in our newly built 1500t tensile test rig. Both tests were third-party witnessed by the client and DNV GL.
The whole operation was successfully executed over three days, with individual tests carried out at 19 metre, 20 metre, and 30 metre spans.
