
Each Modulift series has been proof load tested to 1.25 x SWL (Safe Working Load) at both maximum SWL and maximum span. As well as testing in Modulift's two compression test rigs, testing has also been c
arried out "live" using dead weights.
Modulift offer Proof Load Testing of spreaders in our custom designed Compression test rigs. Any Modulift spreader can be tested to customer requirements. The normal Proof load test is WLL (Working Load Limit) which is SWL x 1.25.
Additionally, we welcome customers or third party witnesses to tests which we are pleased to arrange with organizations such as Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Lloyds Register (LR). When proof load
tests are undertaken we also offer MPI weld inspection before and after proof load testing.
Test rig 1 can test up to 800t capacity spreaders, and test rig 2 can test up to 2000t capacity spreaders. Test rig 2 could also be upgraded to 3500t
Modulift has carried out destruction testing using our specially developed compression test rig. The load at failure exceeded 4 times SWL at the maximum span. This verifies that the Modulift design complies with and exceeds the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive 98/37/EEC and the UK adoptive legislation Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992. (S.I. 1992/3073) and Supply of Machinery (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 1994. (S.I. 1994/2063).
